Falcon Punch

For all you gamers out there this is a tribute beer to one of my favorite Smash Bros character Falcon. This beers starts sweet, but packs a hoppy Punch!

Falcons Punch is a beautiful amber colored beer. Being an Imperial IPA it has a higher 8.5% ABV. It’s one of the clearer beers I have in a while.

The aroma is subtle with fruit and lemon. I get other citrus fruits like orange and grapefruit. I also pick up a lot of the hop and malt.

citrus, earthy malts and mild sweetness. The flavor is fruit/citrus, earthy malts, grapefruit and a tropical fruit/hoppy/slight hop resin finish.

The flavor is sweet and more hoppy than the aroma. The sweetness hides the the ABV which is dangerous because this is a supper. I also get a heavy malt backbone that adds to the complexity of this IPA. It’s earthy and compliments the rest of the flavors.

This beer is refreshing because it light for a DIPA. Sometime DIPAs can be flavor bombs that overwhelm your senses. The simplicity of the flavor is actually welcomed. I’d recommend you drink this beer while grilling. BBQ flavors would be enhanced by this beer flavor profile. While it light and refreshing enough to bear the heat.
