Organic Strawberry Ale is a 5.1% Fruit Ale made at Melbourn Bros Brewery in Stamford, Lincolnshire and then blended and bottled at Samuel Smith's Old Brewery in Tadcaster, North Yorkshire, England. Samuel Smith's Old Brewery is the oldest brewery in Yorkshire, and began making beer in 1758. The Organic Strawberry Ale is a sweet and complex fruit ale with a smooth malt that blends nicely with a juicy strawberry finish. The ale is fermented over at Melbourn Bros before heading back to Sam Smith's to gain a healthy dose of pure, organic strawberry juice.

Organic Chocolate Stout

The Bottle

The Organic Strawberry Ale is sold in a 355ml bottle. Like all of the Sam Smith beers I have seen, it has fairly elegant decor. They be sure to make the word 'Organic' large and on the neck of the bottle. The label is red and features a couple of strawberries on the front. The back of the label describes the brew process and features a picture of the ancient Melbourn Bros brewery.

The Beer

After trying Sam Smith's Organic Chocolate Stout, I went back to the store to see if they held any other brews by Sam Smith. I found the Organic Strawberry Ale and decided to give it a try. It was an interesting and delicious beer. The sweet strawberry juice lingered on the palate and made the Organic Strawberry Ale a truly refreshing drink. The beer was very smooth and with a bit of tartness. It was one of the best fruit Ales I ever tried and I can't wait try try more beer from Samuel Smith's Old Brewery in the future.
