The last few days have been a lot to do, that's why I'm back with a new article today.

The Citadel Spandau is one of the best preserved fortresses of the Renaissance period in Europe. It is the landmark of the Spandau district and the scene of regular knights' battles.

The oldest parts of the castle are from the Middle Ages, the Juliusturm, the landmark Spandau, it was dated to the early 13th century and could be the oldest walls in the city.

The Juliusturm, named after the son-in-law of Joachim II, Duke Julius of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, served as the keep, the last refuge. For many years he served as a dungeon for state prisoners, until 1918, the "Reichskriegsschatz" was stored here under strict surveillance.

!!Very interesting!!

The fortress is surrounded by a moat. The courtyard side gives the impression of the original appearance. Today, the citadel is used by cultural institutions - and serves 10 000 bats as winter quarters.

I wish you a nice day.
It is somehow cold in Berlin🙈

Kiss

Great, would love to visit someday

Most Berlin citizens don't like Spandau, but it is a really nice place to hang around sometimes... Hipster free-zone 😂
