What does the Bible teach?
The Bible teaches that Blessed are they that keep God's word, His commandments and seek Him wholeheartedly because theirs is the kingdom of God. Psalm 119:2.

2 Timothy 1:5 NKJV
when I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.
Sometimes, faith can be inherited. It can be passed from Parent to children, read further that chapter and you will see exactly what it's talking about.
