Bid Bots, A Truth

'Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.'

I have thought over this for miles. Yes, freaking miles. Sold the car, been walking EVERYWHERE. Dozens of miles a day. Less time to write. More time to think. Theoritically. Sometimes we all get distracted.

Bidbots. I keep reading how bad they are for the steemit community. How they are sucking, leeching, and stealing the life from the platform. I can see how this is seen this way. It’s easy to look, and see, within wallets(Very easy to take a look into any account) where the money is going. True, you pay a bidbot, you see a transaction heading to the market, seeking the bitcoin to cash it out. Make their buck. I get it.

For a little bit, I nearly believed it. I seek to make a case that bidbots in fact are part of the reason that @steemit grows. If you have used the advertising platform that these bots have stepped on, you have undoubtedly received the slew of .001 steem deposits, and if you have found your way to @ginabot, and I would venture to think that there are more of those type bots set in place, you can read the messages sent along on the blockchain. They tend to go along the lines of send xxxsbd/steem and get xxxx.

This happens. Continuously. Its a stream and flow of money.

Now for any economy to thrive, there needs to be a flow. I believe Bruce Lee put it best. “Running water never grows stale.” So these bots, and bidders, cash their money out, putting an outflux into the marketplace. This is of course, bad for price points. Supply, demand, we get it.

What is unique about Steemit, is that you through these bots can grow the content you value, for the most part they limit the amount sent per round to proportionate voting power. Meaning, they don’t receive more then they can effectively vote out. Through the vote, the author receives a nearly proportioned amount of SBD/Steem/SP. This KEEPS money in the Steemit platform.

Of course, through continual use of Bidbots and the accrual of sbd and steem, they remove value. But in turn, they replace the value set within the ecosystem. Once a certain threshold is reached, and there is actual thriving, roving and rich curating systems set in place, which can be BUILT through these bid bots, it won’t be needed to supply the SBD sucking power to the bidbots.

So, for me. The understanding is this. Use the bots, bid, grow my SP, my influence, so that I may use that to curate the content I believe is valuable. Once there are more and more voices with actual monetary influence, that CAN reward the users that are producing valuable insight, not just what is bid on, or what the singular curators involved in delegation deem to be worthy.

Steemit, is meant for the value of opinion, and no matter the smell of it, we all have one, here is our chance to use it. Thanks @ned.

Really, it is the delegation, of all your vote, that is the downfall of this community, that is the reason why there are so many voices unheard. Because, literally, your two cents matters.
