Setting Up in 5 - Five Step strategy for Setting up

in #bigwaves5 years ago (edited)

Hi there entrepreneurs, guess you're enjoying the year so far. Been a while since I came out here, well it's all been work work work. Thankfully I'm able to make a post again.
Well I've been out learning a lot of new stuff and getting to meet a whole lot of new people also, lol So I met this lady recently and wow she's so much more than I thought. Not really much more, I didn't just expect that much detail when we spoke, I'll just brief you on how we started talking since it's not our major topic for today but has leads to the topic.

Yeah!!
I notice she was alone most of the time, and since we belong to the same CDs group and I'm also alone most of the time, well I thought it'd be okay to say Hi to her which went well by the way.
I didn't say the regular hello I'm so and so, nah I did "Hey you look like a critic" yeah i really said that and she was kind of blown away in such a way i didn't understand, I mean was she really not expecting something like that or was she baffled by the fact that we weren't talking and the first words sounded insulting??
I told her I meant it in a good way then I explained what i meant and boom, we talked for hours and at a point we focused on starting out as an entrepreneur.

Who's an Entrepreneur?

Someone who decides nah I'm done with being bossed around by this lazy ass, I quit and I'm starting something of my own.

She made it sound so simple yet complicated yeah?
Most of us young guys get tired of been bossed around daily, yeah it's really frustrating and annoying, worst is if the boss is female lol they have this scary looks in their eyes that make you rethink the day you were born lol. Keeping up with making so much for the boss while getting stipends that are barely enough for upkeep and saving not to talk of investing is really breathtaking, as a result we have to become entrepreneurs one way or the other.

Becoming an Entrepreneur is not much of an easy task also, but if done the right way we could pull a lot of income for ourselves in a short while. This brings me to talk about the Five day strategy for startups, known for it charm and working speed.

Setting Up in 5 - Five Step strategy for Setting up

Setting up in 5 is a simple and direct approach to becoming a successful entrepreneur in a short while, yeah I know a good number of trials with lots of planning and hard work must have failed but this could all be as a result of a poor approach or a missing ingredient.

Here's the plan:

Step 1 - Define the problem you want to solve

Every sector of human existence has a problem or the other that needs urgent solutions, could be in form of softwares, apps, equipment, tools e.t.c. The most important thing is knowing what the problem is in the first place. A lot of business owners or startups fail because they failed to define the exact problem they intend to solve and as a result loose focus and end up doing what they really don't like to keep the business running.

Take a chill pill dear young one (now I'm feeling like an adult lol), pick a pen and buy a jotter if you don't have one, think about problems you feel your immediate community is facing and also relate it to the world at large, write down these problems in order of importance or rate of occurrence, this will give you an idea of what you want to get involved with and what you don't.

The Idea is not to know all the problems, NO. the idea is to fish out one particular problem within your capacity to solve. It could be challenging but you must have the resources to solve this problem you have selected, for example if there is this regular garbage dump on the side of the street that bothers the whole neighborhood and I feel I can solve the problem, means I have a shovel and a wheel barrow and also know a dumpsite where I can take it to that will enable me clear out the trash.

Now star this problem you have selected and move to step 2.

Step 2 - Talk to 20 - 30 Potential Customers

Since the problem is known now, what category or set of people and businesses face this issues? And how fast do they want solutions to this?
These questions cannot be answered by anyone else but those facing the issues, after knowing the problem, the next move is to know how much it costs those going through it.
Step out of your comfort zone since you're already getting too comfortable with sitting in bed and writing stuff on paper, it's time to talk to the potential customers... Your potential customers are those people facing this problem you think you can or want to solve.
Set up a meeting to have a brief conversation with your potential clients, try to find out how much this problem costs them and also understand their plight, this will help you come up with a perfect development plan for the product intended to solve the problem.
By the time you're through with speaking to 30 potential clients, you'd have gathered enough information to make your product a perfect fit.

Step 3 - Define the Solution to the problem

Since the problem is known and those facing the problem are known and have been reached, it's time to define the solution to the problem, the solution to be defined must definitely meet the requirements of the users (those facing that problem) there's usually a lot of solutions to one problem, but only one specific solution will work 100%.
Take your time, weigh your choices and pick the best solution making sure to regard all information gotten from potential clients.

Step 4 - Validate your solution

After selecting a solution, test the solution with dummy data.. Dummy data is a random set of data used mainly for testing an application or algorithm. After making sure the solution is up to par, build a test version.and proceed to the next step.

Step 5 - Test the Solution in the Market

Once the solution is built, you can now return back to your potential customers and put the solution to work. You can put up an ad for the solution and you'll be surprised at the turnout you'll get.

Conclusion

For shy or introvert people it can be difficult to meet and talk to up to 30 people in three days, but trust me it is worth it if you want to grow your product or service deliver quality.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed this piece.
