BEP2 Payments deployed on Mainnet

After months of development work, the CanYa team are pleased to announce that BEP2 payments are now live on CanWork.

This greatly increases the available user-base for CanWork and also adds utility for the entire Binance Chain network of supported tokens.

Users will now be able to pay freelancers all over the world using BNB and any BEP2 token listed on the DEX. The payment will go straight into our Hedged Escrow where it will be protected from any price volatilities until the job has been completed. This protects the client and the freelancer from adverse price movements.

This flow of payments is represented below:

This marks a significant milestone for the project after the community vote to move to Binance Chain in May of last year. It is also the culmination of a lot of development work. Often, the team had to build the tools (at the protocol level) required for our BEP-Escrow service from scratch. Examples of this are listed below:

  • Binance Chain Mainnet Fees Tool
  • Multi-sender
  • Token Freezer
  • BEP39: Upgrade Websocket to include MEMO
  • BEP24: Improvements to the Freeze Function
  • BEP38: Non-interactive Multi-sig Wallet Demo
  • Stateless Binance Chain Escrow Service
  • CanWork BEP2 Payments Integration

BEP2 payments will form the foundation of the project to start increasing the platform’s user-base and activity going forward.

Next Steps

From here CanWork’s BEP2 payments will be heavily tested by select members of the community. This is happening now and will continue for the next week or two. If you would like to be involved in the testing please let us know in the telegram community channel.

We are also preparing a blitz on UI/UX improvements now the core tech has been implemented. The goal is to make the job creation and payment process as easy and usable as possible. If you’ve got the development skills and want to tackle a Gitlab issue or two, create a profile on CanWork and let us know in our telegram channel.

Following testing with the community, we have lined up a number of projects within the Binance Ecosystem to post jobs and further test the platform. Once we are happy with the user experience we will begin our marketing efforts proper.

Marketing Plans

Prior to the move to Binance Chain, the marketing team got CanWork to the top 1% of available dApps (out of over 3000 competitors). We look forward to resuming our efforts on Binance Chain with the initial goal to be the most-used application on Binance Chain by the end of 2020!

The strategy revolves around three avenues:

  • Virality,
  • Advertising, and
  • Business Development.

Virality

Virality is a staple of growth for any marketplace, will initially revolve around referrals. The CanYa team have several previous successes using referrals to grow users and the community. Building the referral mechanism for CanWork presented several unique challenges due to the nature of handling cryptocurrency and the numerous attack vectors it presents.

The referral mechanism has now been built and the coinciding implementation strategy is ready to be rolled out when BEP2 integration is complete.

Some users may have already noticed a new unique ‘referral code’ on the right-hand side of their home page:

Advertising

Advertising will focus, initially, on user’s (freelancers and clients) familiar with $BNB and the Binance Ecosystem. There are currently 313,000 holders of $BNB that have just become viable users for CanWork.

We had success with growth for CanWork advertising and intend to continue to refine our strategy across a range of channels.

Having transitioned from idea to start-up, and onwards, we know the struggles of most projects. We understand the rub points and we know the solutions. We will re-invigorate our content production to produce evergreen content to help other projects/start-ups whilst bringing increased exposure to CanWork.

Business Development

Business development has also been progressing. We intend to initially leverage off both Binance and the Binance Chain community (users and projects). Once we refine this strategy, we will widen our business development efforts across the broader cryptocurrency community. This will particularly accelerate after CanWork has BEPSwap support.

Noting the above, we are also very keen to continue to hear any ideas the community may have to help growth throughout 2020. Feel free to contact the team in the TG community chat!

We are looking forward to resuming the growth of CanWork and believe it is a compelling and highly competitive alternative to the incumbent freelancing platforms currently on offer.
