Title: Are Mixed-Breed Dogs Really Healthier Than Purebreds?

This article was about the differences between purebred and mixed breeds. It discusses traits and genetics of mixed and purebred dogs. They found recessive diseases being passed on to the purebred dogs while finding the mixed breeds didn't have the same outcome. They tested DNA for 152 well known diseases and cross referenced and found three common themes. The nervous system, the cardiovascular system, and the vision were present in both pure and mixed breeds.

The chapter is connected by It discussing the difference in alleles and genetics. Generally the purebreds can pass on a recessive disease while the Cross hybrid dogs are much less likely. It then goes on to compare similar scenarios to humans. It speculated of the hybrid vigor notion with a slight correlation of less disease in the mixed breeds.
