The European greenfinch, or just greenfinch (Chloris chloris), juvenile.

In my favorite forest, these birds are quite rare. I saw them only at the very beginning of the summer, and there were no more of them, apparently they were here not for long. But last year, I saw these young chicks, it is obvious that these birds decided to settle down on their own and have posterity. Four little chicks flew from tree to tree, and jumped from branch to branch. But I did not see their parents. They had soiled beaks, it is obvious that they have already eaten on their own.

In summer, these birds feed on insects, spiders, small mollusks, and during the rest of the year they eat seeds and grains, as evidenced by their large beak.
