The fact that the global technology giants looking in to cryptocurrencies is not surprising at all . Nor is anyone surprised that after studying blockchain technology, some of these companies will decide to start using the technology. Microsoft is one of them.

Microsoft Authenticator

Microsoft has decided to support DIDs (decentralized IDs - decentralized identity documents) for their Microsoft Authenticator. Technological giant sees potential in blockchain technology, especially because the blockchain is not centralized and controlled by one person, government, or society.

"After examining decentralized storage systems, protocol consensus and blockchain technology, we believe it is suitable for decentralized identity documents."

Says the message from Microsoft just a few days back. Identity identification is one of many uses that blockchain technology can provide. Microsoft recognizes this and states that Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum are platforms that are suitable for DIDs authentication.

But why is blockchain suitable for document identification? Just like Bitcoin itself, such an identification would remove the third party. No government or organization would have control over your documents. As a result, this party could not be misused or leaked.
Such a system would be sufficiently decentralized.
