Individuals and Investors Show Firm Optimism Towards Cryptocurrency, a recent Survey Indicates

Several businesses have been subscribing to the emergence of cryptocurrency. Partnerships via cryptocurrency utilization among corporations have been increasing, especially to the financial institutions.
However, a recent survey was conducted on the trends in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology. The survey received 2,490 responses from consumers and 528 responses from institutional investors.
The results from the survey indicated that investors and consumers are optimistic about the future of cryptocurrency despite the 60 percent decline in cryptocurrency valuations in 2018. Also, consumers and investors are considering to purchase more coins in the next 12 months because of the potentiality of cryptocurrency, and Bitcoin among other coins, was ranked most preferably.
The respondents expressed immense interests in the technology, they believe that there is still the need to educate people on the technology. According to the survey, respondents expressed concerns on the development of the technology. On the one hand, 50 percent of the respondents said that the crypto market is volatile. On the other hand, 37 percent expressed concerns on the security of using technology.
Due to the latent concern over the security of blockchain technology, Thailand’s Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Japan’s National Police Agency (NPA) have issued warning to firms with a potential of a severe penalty, if caught, issuing coins and providing exchange services to people without obtaining license.
