Its true. I dont really care about bitcoin, but since the market values it, i buy it to earn some extra money. The thing with bitcoin is now its touted as a store of value, so even if superior technology is there, it doesnt really matter because a store of value (like gold) is valuable because of the trust people have with it.
Bitcoin has one function: buy and hodl.
The risk with altcoins like eos is that technology is very important. If a superior blockchain comes around, people will see it as outdated and switch over. Just like what some people did with steem to eos.
I would say more people went to EOS from STEEM because they hoped the same mistakes wouldn't be made there plus they raised so much money they can survive the crypto winters.
