I noticed, but all the ones i would actually put a wager on are years in the future.
What do you feel of the ability of FreeBitco.in to still be operating at the end of 2020?
If they maintain their current practice of $200 jackpot, what do they do when that is 200 satoshis? meaning the normal prize would be 1/100 of a satoshi... will that be possible? Will bitcoin make more division possible?
yeah they can die any day even though they worked for years. yet i assume they have put those just so people have time to notice and then they will add shorter bets. i would surely not bet on those months ahead right now.
just join, get free BTCs and wait for closer-ending bets which im sure will come

I try to get all my friends to join, and click...
... so that when they start asking about buying bitcoin, we can transfer THEIR bitcoin to THEIR wallet and they can see how its done.
But, rarely they have any follow through.
FreeBitco.in has made it this far, i am sure they will just start giving parts of a satoshi as a reward.... but that is really going to be a BIG, red-letter day.
If bitcoin goes up to 50k then faucets will be crushed as they wont even be able to afford to give out 1 satoshi
To be fair Freebitco.in is a miner so when bitcoin goes up they'll have more money added to the fact they been here a long time so there that. But yeah still a risk...
Many faucets are already beginning to get to the breaking point.
I know one that is giving out 1-2 satoshis.
Many bitcoin faucet are going to have to adopt LN or switch to altcoins/rebrand as well.
Well yes by hopefully LN will be mass usable(let me clear when it is 200 satoshis usd inflated alot or bitcoin went up alot or both :P ) it be cheap to withdraw. The LN has millisats already and is planing nanosats soon I heard(if not already here).
And maybe FreeBitco.in will become a lightening node. It would make sense.
He set up everyone's account to be a bitcoin account. its just that he holds the keys to those.
Will be interesting to see. I feel millisats will be needed far sooner than any would want to think.

But yes I agree with you. I believe when LN gets watchtower will be when we really see massive growth

We haven't even begun to use the coins, and we are already hitting walls.
LN and watchtower may not happen soon enough.
However, crypto-currencies are SOOOO much better than fiat currencies that its a wonder they still exist. Its like the banks are using hand-crank cylinder phonograph records, while bitcoin is using MP2s.
The banks realize this, and its just a matter of time.
From there, it is just a simple matter to compute bitcoins per person, and thus get an average dollar value.
