Major crypto advocate John McAfee claims SEC is “in panic” over digital currency

John McAfee has always been very outspoken for the crypto community, drawing to himself a lot of media attention to through his rather controversial social media activity or interview snippets.

In his most recent media post McAfee stated the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) is scared of digital currencies.
John McAfee reckons that the SEC is trying to grab for power and intending to regain their stronghold oposite to individual’s finances.
Cryptocurrency has been shiftly taken power away from regulatory agencies and centeral governments without anyone really being able to control, it since the system is largely decentralized.

McAfee doesn’t consider that crypto is in need o being regulated, or not at least as much as it may be in the future. I somehow agree with him because the marketplace is still young and immature, so too much regulation too soon may affect the growth and move some investors away from the crypto space or rise impossible barriers to keep away smaller net of individuals as happens in the stock market nowways.

Why McAfee May Be So Passionate in This?

His company McAfee, Inc. was under scrutinity on fraud charges by the same Securities and Exchange Commission in allegation that the company had misrepresented its gross revenue by hundreds of millions.
Once the charges were filed, the company publicly announced that their estimates would fall short of their initial estimates for revenue and the value of the company plunged drastically and rapidly.

Therefore $50 million were paid out to the SEC to cover the fines incurred by the alleged fraud.
