Is it possible to trace the owners of a BTC account through the address of their wallet?

To me I think it's not possible, block chains try as much as possible to protect it's users which means anonymity given to every user, you can't really trace who owners of wallets through their address, meanwhile their addresses do change during each incoming transaction which would even make it harder to trace the owner if it was possible.
