TL;DR
LN nodes are not meant for users but for admins.
You should keep in mind that at this stage Lightning Network is being developed. That means - it is technical people friendly and probably should stay that way until it gets in "production" stage.
Bitcoin is 1st generation crypto currency and LN is technology that is taken from the next generation crypto world. They are called Nodes. There is a list of them where you can earn some money by running them masternodes. Those nodes are not used by users, only by technical guys and it is meant like that. You get paid for that technical knowledge. I believe it should be the same with LN - you should get some rewards for running a node. If it is not yet then when it is in production, there should be some fees for nodes.
And when everything is setup, there will be some services, applications and other tools you could use to connect to LN node that should be run by people that get rewarded for it.
