SCAM ALERT - Bitcoin Generator Exploit Warning

If you see an advert for "Bitcoin Generator" and it looks to-good-to-be-true, it probably is. The web site claims to be exploiting a hack in the bitcoin blockchain via the IPv6 protocol that will send you any amount of bitcoin and all you have to do to receive this (stolen) bitcoin is to send the transaction fee.

You start by entering your bitcoin address and pressing start, this is safe enough, right? I mean no-one can track you over the blockchain! The "generator" then goes through the process of allegedly hacking the blockchain, injecting code into the nodes and then suddenly claiming to have sent "whatever amount of bitcoin you requested" to your address.

Now, if you send the required transaction fee, the transaction will be confirmed and you will have your bitcoin. And a neat screen shot video proves it. Just one problem....The bitcoin is never sent to you before or after you send the transaction fee.

This SCAM is easily debunked.

  • For a start you will not find any amount of bitcoin sent to the address you entered into the generator. You can confirm this at blockchain.info by entering your receive address. Even if they had sent you bitcoin it would show up on the blockchain as unconfirmed.

  • Secondly, the addresses that pop up stating "Latest Generated BitCoins Using Our Exploits IZYXXh0IvoMHzKzn1BOkRQ2IEM00216 has received 1 BTC 9s ago" a quick search on blockchain.info reveals no such address exists.

  • The chat room provided, which is constantly updated with positive comments, is actually on a loop and repeats itself about every five minutes. You can post chat in there and others can respond, but the relentless chat loop of pre-programmed bot messages tends to dilute the real chat and obfuscate the fact that it is not even real.

Be Aware and Be Careful

So if you come across this "exploit" and reckon you can make a quick bitcoin by injecting code into the blockchain, it isn't quite that easy and you will probably end up losing your transation fee. It pays to be aware!
