Bitcoin fees lowest since May 2017

in #bitcoin6 years ago

1 satoshi per byte

It didn't last long and is up to 8 sat/byte now for next block but still dirt cheap and far cheaper than banks. It's what Bitcoin was created for, the ability to send up to $10,000 for less than 10 cents.

Why are they so low?

Exchanges are batching transactions which has dramatically reduced the amount of transactions needed to transfer funds. This has reduced the global transaction volume and made getting on the books a lot less competitive.

Average transaction fees peaked around $55 on per transaction and now less than $0.25.

Fees this low should attract a lot more users to Bitcoin and more importantly merchants.

Wow hope there will be no transaction fee in future😜

That will never happen.

This is so Good Id & Good job, especially because I'm just writing a piece about the preparations I made before I quit my job and became a full time Steemian

Great to see that BTC's fees are lowering. This will help make BTC a good option to send funds again

One step closer to making cryptocurrency available to all. Inexpensive transaction fees not only increase scalability, but also eliminates the exclusivity currently associated with cryptocurrency. At an average of $55 USD per transaction that is not viable for a majority of users. Reduced transaction fees combined with decentralized platforms, such as Blockbasis will ultimately aid in cryptocurrency replacing fiat currency.
