When SPY does this, what happens to Bitcoin?
If SPY tanks, will bitcoin fly?
So far there hasn't really been the inverse relationship between the S&P 500 and bitcoin like many excpected.
However, perhaps it will take effect after prices have mostly shaken off all the euphoria from 2017.
We are getting very close to that point now.
Given that, what if this is what is in store for the S&P?

Now also keep in mind that the next bitcoin halving is in 2020.
So, we could have a stock market crash right around the time the supply of bitcoin is being constricted.
Hmm... could it be the perfect storm???

I think that will be the long term way it would work but we cannot deny that if the fall results from a liquidity crisis where everyone wants cash, bitcoin may suffer as capital there may also want to come out. This is the cost of having institutional investors involved in the asset class.

Yep, bitcoin has never existed during a recession. It will be interesting to see how it trades. To me it looks like it is viewed as a risky asset and will be sold off during a crash...
