600 mining computers were stolen from Reykjanes in Iceland. This happened in December and Janurary.

Many miners have established operations in Iceland because of cheap geothermal and hydroelectric power.

Bitcoin mining requires vast amounts of electricity. So miners go to far flung parts of the world for cheap power. Iceland has tapped deep geothermal resources.

Officials are monitoring power usage in the hopes of recovering these missing mining rigs.
