Brazilian transport company will accept payments in Bitcoin

A passenger transport company in Brazil has just begun to smile at cryptocurrencies. This is the GSB group, which has become the first company of its kind in the South American country to accept bitcoins as a form of payment.

The users of the companies Viação García and Brasil Sul, belonging to GSB, already offer this option, noting that from next month they will accept payments in Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin.

In this regard, Stefano Boiko Jr., vice president of the group, said:

The cryptocurrencies represent changes in financial relationships. They facilitate the purchase online. Many of the economic and commercial operations are migrating to the digital world and in the passenger transport segment by road could not be different.

According to Bokio, although the current number of users with cryptocurrencies is not significant, the company decided to offer new avant-garde alternatives. The procedure that users must follow to buy tickets with bitcoins is the same as for online purchases with a credit card, but using the corresponding address of their personal bitcoin wallet.

Brazil is one of the countries in the region where there were recently problems between exchanges of cryptocurrencies and traditional banking. However, the growing and undeniable popularity of cryptocurrencies has driven both merchants and service providers to insert them into their activities.

It should be noted that this year several Brazilian companies have joined the use of distributed accounting technology (DLT), as in the case of Beetech, a company that recently incorporated RippleNet, the payment network based on Blockchain. It was also learned that XP Investimentos, the largest investment company of the South American giant, will launch a cryptocurrency exchange house. Everything seems to indicate that there will be a more active presence of Blockchain and cryptocurrencies in various economic sectors of the nation.
