G20 TO REGULATE CRYPTOS NEXT MARCH
According to this article from Reuters France and Germany are looking to push a regulatory Agenda on the next G20 to be held in March in Argentina. This was announced by the French Finance Minister, Mr. Bruno Le Maire.
This follows a global initiative to regulate, and in other cases even ban the surge of this financial alternative to the current FIAT based system.
Le Maire stated in front of the Press on Thursday in Paris;
“We will have a joint Franco-German analysis of the risks linked to bitcoin, regulation proposals and these will be submitted as a joint proposal to our #G20 counterparts at the G20 summit in Argentina in March”
The statement is rather a joint operation by the leading economies of the EU since on last Monday both countries, but separately, had called to put efforts on regulating this new market, considering the risk linked to the volatility and those risks which are normally taken by small investors.
Last Monday the French Finance Head announced that he has asked the creation of a Task Force, for which the former Central Banker, Mr. Jean-Pierre Landau would be in charge.
Meanwhile the German #BundesBank board member Joachim Wuermeling was calling for an international front solution, considering the difficulty of a single country trying to control this new technology (even when we are talking about Germany).
The writer considers that any positive regulation is a step forward in the masification of the crypto space and further more of the Blockchain technology as the next Economic revolution.
