Most blockchains rely on miners and validators , so to say, computing power farmers that boost transaction through synchronized peer-to-peer network. The security of the network is of great importance and is ensured via a consensus mechanism where miners are incentivized by reward. This complex mechanism of mining, rewarding and validating is the core principle of most blockchain that ensure data-integrity and payment because the value cannot be tampered once approved. Blockchain of the first and second generation in almost all cases uses transaction fees to prevent peers from spamming the network. As early as 2014, the first LOTA token were in circulation. It served a s a backbone of the internet of things that year . No one received a reward nor pay for a transaction fee as users of the network validate two old transaction in order to be able to conduct one of their own. This is impossible with a miner centralization like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

It field of application is set in the IoT as the technology for industrial appliances and data integrity.it aimed at enabling a machine economy. IONChain.org being same with LOTA serving in the IoT ,is a new type of Infrastructure of IoT based on the blockchain and edge computing, aim to achieve the unification of the flow, trading, security be and criterion of IoT data. Though both LOTA and IONChain.org both target at making up the weaknesses of the IoT, they are different in the architecture and algorithm. Therefore as a technology, LOTA can be used in internet of things but was not used as a digital currency which is the reason why LOTA had no miner nor mining mechanism.

LOTA major aim was to solve problem of M2M (machine to machine) IONChain.org is more than just a crytocurrency designed to solve the M2M transactions on IoT but also resolving various problems about trading, security and share of LoT data.
