Tech Update: What's Going on with Bitcoin Cash?

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Well the Segwit2x fork didn't happen. Some people are relieved while others are disappointed. Many are still asking what happened to my free Bitcoin? Many are confused and think that the BTC miners and developers have lost the point completely. So even though it may be good that the BTC fork didn't take place in November, 2017 as it was planned, Bitcoin Cash is capitalizing on all the confusion.

Bitcoin fell Friday to its lowest since Nov. 1 as traders bet on its offshoot, bitcoin cash, instead.

The offshoot digital currency surged more than 40 percent to its highest since Aug. 19, and was last trading near $947, according to CoinMarketCap. Bitcoin cash split off from the original version of bitcoin in August as a minority group of developers decided to implement an upgrade in an effort to increase transaction speeds for the digital currency.

The question that people really want answers to is why? Why is Bitcoin Cash suddenly the hottest cryptocurrency since sliced bread?

I've heard there are several reasons for the epic rise this past week. Firstly true BTC believers feel that the new Segwit protocol that has been added to BTC takes it away from its original design and opens it for future corruption down the road.

Secondly, Roger Ver has come out to support BCH in his full capacity completely turning his back on the old BTC to favor this new and modernized alternative.

It's hard to tell what will happen in the BTC vs BCH battle but there can be only one true winner... Which one will it be?

They can easily co-exist. After the fork Bitcoin will try another fork date an rise again..

@techblogger It's a roller coaster ride, hodl tight! :)

Maybe the safest way is to Hedge these two versions of Bitcoins together, because the rise of one would mean the decline of the other. That is why I bought BCH yesterday, and now I have the exact same amount of BTC and BCH.

I sold my Bitcoin Cash after the hard fork :(
