Last month, Spanish police arrested the suspect leader of a cyber band, Denis K, who allegedly stole up to 1 billion euros from banks around the world according to Europol.

The band, consisting of members of Russian and Ukrainian nationalities, took control of banks' computer networks by targeting their employees with fishing methods and as a result infected computers.
As soon as they gained access to bank servers, they withdrew money from their ATMs.
The group also reportedly has built a Bitcoin farm to clean up the money according to the authorities.
Following a close co-operation between police forces in the US, Asia and Europe, the criminal group and their suspected leader were cuffed in Alicante, Spain.
This criminal organization has been active since 2013 and has members from at least 40 states who have committed attacks on 100 financial institutions, Europol said.
The Spanish Interior Ministry announced that they were seized with items worth 500,000 euros, two luxury cars, and two houses worth 1 million euros.
Authorities have frozen bank accounts that carry their names. The bank had converted the money to 15,000 bitcoins at various scholarships in Russia and Ukraine before being transferred to their accounts.
