Gladius- Protect your website from DDos attacks
Gladius, an ancient Roman soldier's sword, is proposing a decentralized solution to combat DDoS attacks that have become very common. Gladius plans to defeat DDoS attacks by allowing users to connect to protection pools nearby that will allow for better protection and speed up the website at the same time. Gladius claims that their technology gives anyone the ability to increase the security and speed of their website. Anyone is able to participate in security of the network and Gladius will reward users for their computer's spare hardware and bandwith when they are connected to the network.

Gladius will allow users to set up a node and track their profits from the Gladius desktop client. Any company that signs up for Gladius will be able to track attempted attacks and bandwith use. Gladius also looks to have a strong team and is definitely attempting to solve a huge problem. DDos attacks are a very big problem facing websites these days and on their website they estimate that there have been at least 300,000 attacks this year totaling $150 Billion dollars in damage. Gladius also looks like they have a strong team and they have been featured in the press numerous times. Gladius hasn't launched their platform yet, but they are providing updates regularly on Twitter and they are close to launching.
From an investment standpoint Gladius also looks like a great opportunity. Currently Gladius has a marketcap of 1.9 million a total supply of 16.8 million and a price of just $0.13.

This will not work. Decentralization cannot protect against ddos attacks as efficiently as centralized solutions.
I'd be worried about the latency costs alone routing my application traffic to 100+ strangers.
This is actually a very good project. This could also but used for caching and offering other services on top.

Yeah, I know this has competitors like PolySwarm and Hacken, but the market is still huge for a product like this. What do you mean about the centralized network?
Don’t know much but I sometime deal with companies like cloudflare who can now push code on their con networks before traffic reaches the server.
Ok, got it. I hope that Gladius or a similar project becomes the de facto for internet security. I think that decentralization is starting to become the future of everything.

Its going to be a very difficult to build a competitive control layer for a decentralized solution. The latency costs paid by routing traffic to hundreds of machines owned by strangers may be more debilitating than a DDoS attack on its own. And any attempt to other caching or other services just adds to that control layer pain.

For those who don't know what is DDos, it is a malicious attempt by the attacker attempting to slow down, crash the targeted system/website so that users further not able to access it.

The trade volume is pretty low for this coin. I feel that a technology like this is needed to protect frequent website attacks. I will be investing in this coin, but I wouldn't place a huge bet on it with the market downturn.
