in #bitcoin7 years ago

I do not blog often but because Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are starting to become more noticed by the mainstream investors and mainstream media as a valid and viable way to invest your money for short term and for the future, there are probably a lot of people out there who are wondering how to get started.

For that reason, I will be covering in this article how to get started buying Bitcoin and will continue with articles towards advanced short term and long term strategies and ICO’s as well as mining and investing sites.
For Today, I will start with simply where to buy and store bitcoins. In other articles, I will give more detail about buying at specific sites, if there is a demand for it or will just continue with what to do with your cryptocurrencies once you have them.
Please let me know what you are looking for and I will be glad to help you out in future posts.

There are 2 things that you need to obtain Bitcoin:

  1. A place to obtain your bitcoin.
  2. A wallet to store your bitcoin in

Popular ways to get bitcoin are:

  1. Have a friend or associate send them to you
  2. Exchange /Wallets

a. Coinbase
Most established wallet. You can buy BTC, Etherium and Litecoin from a bank account or credit card. There will be set up time needed for your identity and to set up your bank accounts. Bank accounts take 4 to 5 days to process, while credit cards are almost instant.

b. Ledger
This is the next most popular hardware wallet and worth looking at the options available. Supports many different coins and works through a USB port on your computer
