EVENTUM: TRANSFORMING THE WORLD INTO A DATA FEED
Data is an asset that is available to virtually every organization on the planet. But it’s not about how much data an organization has, or how many business analysts or data scientists they hire to analyze it. Instead, it’s about how the organization uses that data and uses it to the extreme. You may have heard the saying “you can’t manage what you can’t measure.” And in today’s world where the Internet of Things (IoT) is becoming increasingly more important, this is truer than ever before. Organizations that are disrupting their markets (and sometimes disrupting markets outside of their own) are the ones that measure everything about their customers, products and services and interpret it in new ways to drive innovation.
Organizations such as Amazon and Google have been using data to the extreme since day one. They built their products to collect data. It was not about the money they charged for their product or service, but rather about the value they generated from the data itself. Simply put: they thought about data completely differently. They treated it as a true corporate asset not as something to be modeled. And that shift in mindset is what helped them disrupt their markets and become the world-class organizations that they are today.
Eventum Network is a decentralized platform where the truth is sourced from the crowds, analyzed through Eventum’s validation nodes and automatically turned into a real-time API and sent to developers. It is a platform that utilizes people’s time and connectivity via their smartphones/ desktops with which they can capture and report the real-world data all around us. This is particularly helpful in contentious news pieces or various tweets, where a single data source can be prone to errors in judgment or intentionally report false information. Eventum is an open-sourced, extensible platform with an easy-to-use API interface and flexible SDK. Developers can get any real-world data in the form of an API while also being sure the data is verified, i.e. a result of consensus, for which rules are set by the developer himself. The data cannot be stored or controlled by a 3rd party, and all funds are securely stored on the blockchain.
Eventum gathers information in real-time by a decentralized network of reporting and validation nodes, ensuring transparency, fund and data security and complete verification of submissions. It also avoids relying on a single data source that can result in technical errors or source bias. By utilizing Ethereum’s blockchain and its smart contract functionality, Eventum ensures transparent real-time data collation and consensus analysis in order to bring untampered results back to the developer who pays for it. A specific set of smart contracts governs; dispute and reviews, stake and user reputation, and system governance among others.
Eventum token was conceived as an integral part of the platform. The tokens will be used in the reward mechanism and staking requirements and will be connected to every piece of data that goes through the system.
