ACERCA DEL MOVIMIENTO CYPHERPUNK - ABOUT THE MOVEMENT CYPHERPUNK
Hablar de las criptomonedas sin tomar en consideración su filosofía es como decir algo a medias. Y en este sentido, hoy quiero hablarles sobre el Movimiento Cypherpunk y no porque me sienta una punk madurita, sino porque considero que es importante, pues es el punto de partida de la economía digital.
En el artículo anterior, les exprese la necesidad que hay de conocer la diferencia entre dinero digital, moneda virtual y criptomonedas, dejando para ello un buen artículo publicado en la web, por su sencillez en el lenguaje utilizado, accesible a todos y todas, pues a la final es mi ocupación, que otros entiendan y asimilen los conceptos que hay alrededor del mundo de las cripto. https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@valquerales/anteunadudaunaconsulta-inanydoubtaninquiry-yfzjiw5rub
Pues bien, tras realizar varias búsquedas, me encontré que el Movimiento Cypherpunks tiene un manifiesto, el cual les dejo un extracto al finalizar este post y el vínculo donde puedes obtener el texto completo solo que en el idioma original (inglés). Su concepto general es:
…cualquiera que use la criptografía fuerte en un esfuerzo por representar un cambio social o político…
Pero veamos ahora lo curioso de la formación de esta controversial palabra que le da su filosofía de vida. Cypher proviene de la voz inglesa de cifrar y Cyber de cibernético, por otra parte punk es sinónimo de resistencia.
El punk por su parte es una cultura que se inicia en los 70 del siglo pasado, como resistencia y cambios radicales ante la inseguridad y la recesión económica emprendida en el 73, que convierten en auténticos polvorines sociales, los barrios obreros y de inmigrantes de Londres contra un sistema erigido a partir del Rock'n'Roll que había creado una serie de estrellas, élites y clubs cada vez más alejados de la realidad social de aquellos años (Fuente: https://todalamusicadeargentina.es); la filosofía del DIY (Do It Yourself) en español - hazlo tú mismo, es el principio fundamental del movimiento que se alzaba con sus crestas o pinchos de colores chillones, botas militares y tatuajes, la música estrepitosa y corta, bailes grupales sin pasos predeterminado, y letras de canciones que protestan contra un sistema en el que no creen. Algunos de los exponentes emblemáticos de esta cultura son Sex Pistols, Ramones y otros tantos de habla inglesa; en español conseguimos representantes como el grupo vasco Eskorbuto, y vemos a través de las estrofas de la canción Anti-todo su manera de protesta:
En esta misma década de los 70 a través de la criptografía, definida como el arte de la comunicación secreta, (Fuente: https://www.genbeta.com) se descubre el cifrado asimétrico, conocido como criptografía de clave pública o cifrado no secreto, este hallazgo nació con su propia filosofía política. Cabe destacar que esta ciencia se aplicaba en instancias militares y de gobierno, más sin embargo el gobierno de los EEUU publica la Data Encryption Standard (en español, método para cifrar información), primer trabajo escrito por Whitfield Diffie y Martin Hellman.
Ello sumado al hecho que más particulares, incorporaban computadoras a su vida, las cuales conectaban a la red global con módems, dio como resultado la aparición de los cyberpunk, es aquí donde un grupo de personas se dan cuenta que faltaba algo fundamental en este tipo de comunicación, la privacidad y las comunicaciones seguras. Así que para finales de la década de los 80 comienza a organizarse un grupo de personas en su resistencia contra las imposiciones al cifrado. Para principios de los 90, Eric Hughes, Timothy C. May y John Gilmore fundan un grupo que se reunía para el estudio del cifrado libre y de la seguridad de las comunicaciones, recibió el nombre de cypherpunks de la mano de Jude Milhon, quien les da el nombre. Nace así mismo la Cypherpunk Mailing List y para 1.994 contaba con 700 suscriptores, se distinguía por ser un foro donde se coincidia para la discusión de problemas técnicos en matemáticas, criptografía, ingeniería informática, política y filosofía.
Nace la criptoanarquía, con el objeto de resistir la privacidad del usuario en Internet, es decir personas que conectadas iban contra los intentos de los gobiernos para regular los cifrados. Así pues se tiene que dentro de la filosofía de Cypherpunk en palabras de May, se expresa como (Fuente: https://copitlrevista.wordpress.com):
Estos desarrollos alterarán por completo la naturaleza de la regulación gubernamental, la capacidad de gravar y controlar las interacciones económicas, la capacidad de mantener la información en secreto e incluso alterarán la naturaleza de la confianza y la reputación. (cursiva propia)
Como hecho anecdótico, muchos no creyeron en la moneda creada por Nakamoto. Se comenta que el actual presidente de Blockstream, Adam Back, fue una de las primeras personas a las que Satoshi envió un correo electrónico sobre su libro blanco de Bitcoin, pero el inventor de hashcash no se involucró con la moneda digital hasta mucho más tarde. Quiero culminar con una frase que utilizamos en español, Honor a quien honor merece, y la verdad es que sin la creación del Movimiento Cypherpunks no tendríamos la posibilidad de conocer sobre la Economía digital, estas personas han logrado con la escritura del código, no solo la defensa de la privacidad y la libertad, en el acceso a un mundo para cualquier cristiano como yo o como usted tenga curiosidad, obviamente, encontraremos algunos casos donde se ha engendrado deformaciones en la concepción primigenia, sin embargo todo va a depender que si entendemos o no la filosofía originaria, es decir, las razones que tuvieron estas personas en impulsar el Movimiento Cypherpunks.

Los Cypherpunks escribimos código. Sabemos que alguien debe crear software para defender la privacidad, y como no podemos obtener privacidad hasta que todos la tengan, vamos a escribirlo. ABOUT THE MOVEMENT CYPHERPUNK
Talking about cryptocurrencies without considering their philosophy is like saying something half-heartedly. Well, after doing several searches, I found that the Cypherpunks Movement has a manifesto, which I leave an excerpt at the end of this post and the link where you can get the full text only in the original language (English). Its general concept is:
... anyone who used strong cryptography in an effort to represent a social or political change.
But let's see now the curiousness of the formation of this controversial word that gives it its philosophy of life. Cypher comes from the English voice of encrypt and Cyber of cybernetic, on the other hand punk is synonymous of resistance.

The cryptanarquía is born, in order to resist the privacy of the user on the Internet, that is, people who were connected went against the attempts of governments to regulate encryption. As an anecdotal fact, many did not believe in the coin created by Nakamoto. I want to end with a phrase that we use in Spanish, Honor to whom honor deserves, and the truth is that without the creation of the Cypherpunks Movement we would not have the possibility of knowing about the Digital Economy, these people have achieved with the writing of the code, not only the defense of privacy and freedom, in access to a world for any Christian like me or as you are curious, obviously, we will find some cases where deformations have been generated in the original conception, however everything will depend that if we understand or not the original philosophy, that is, the reasons that these people had in promoting the Cypherpunks Movement.

The Cypherpunks wrote code. We know that someone must create software to defend privacy, and since we can not obtain privacy until everyone has it, we will write it down. We publish our code so that our fellow Cypherpunks can practice and play with it. Our code is freely usable for everyone around the world. We do not care much if you do not approve the software we write. We know that software can not be destroyed and that a widely dispersed system can not be shut down.
