Effect of Bitcoin futures on Bitcoin price?

I'm sure this a question on everyone's mind.

I have been reading and watching videos about what the effect of Bitcoin Futures on price.

I am getting different ideas, while some think the price will be suppressed by in the institutions shorting Bitcoin futures; some are saying institutional money will push the price even as high as $50,000 in 2018.

What do you guys think, I'm very interested to hear your sentiments.
