Wild Couple of Days in Crypto (Bitconnect Exit Scam)
So... Wow. Bitconeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeect. Today, due to the massive winter storm that affected the southern United States today, I had a day off work with ample time to reflect on what has happened in the crypto markets today. I have to be honest: I spent quite a bit of time rubbernecking at the Bitconnect Exit Scam horror stories on Youtube as part of a morbid fascination. There is something vastly entertaining about watching the misfortune of others; especially when those people corralled thousands or tens of thousands of others into a very obvious ponzi scheme that led to billions of dollars in losses over the course of the day. And when I say obvious, I mean people were not afraid to say flat out: "It's definitely a ponzi, but I'm gonna invest in it anyway."
Most of my time was spent looking for vids by Bitconnect shills apologizing about getting people into such a malicious scam, but surprisingly, most of them gave very meager apologies while doubling down on how they were going to be focusing more on their internet marketing revenue... Take Ryan Hildreth for example!
After being supremely enraged by the blase attitude this guy took towards losing tons of people money with horrible trading advice, I left a few angry comments and moved on to watching Carlos from New York talk about Bitconnect and a few awesome remixes of his speech in Thailand. Wow. How inspirational. I'm sorry Carlos, but no amount of enthusiasm and excitement; screaming and dancing; can save you from the fact that you are involved in a scam that you know nothing about and run by people you know nothing about who just want to run away with as much of your money as possible.
Dear Litecoin, why are you being held down artificially despite having massive utility, speed, and cheap fees? Is it the fact that you haven't implemented MAST? Is it the fact that Charlie lie is suspected of insider trading? Is it that whales are just trying to shake as many people out before sending it to the moon? Please tell me soon, cause I have some things I want to buy.
Steem is currently the only "ALT" that I am HODLing at the moment that is not in the top ten market caps. Why, you might ask? There is just something extremely alluring about a coin that actually has some utility! And... gasp ... is actually being used!!!!!!!! The SMT white paper is also extremely encouraging. I would like to see all content on the internet be monetized, as what better way to waste your time than to make money doing it!??!?!?
If you know any deep resources for information on STEEM, please let me know. I want to delve deeper into the technical aspects of this extremely interesting technology.
