@stan has announced plans for Cryptonomex's to obtain investor funding and become a powerhouse supporting the future of the Bitshares network; similar to what Consensys is to Ethereum. In the proposed roadmap Bitshares would remain a fully autonomous Sovereign Software Company independent of Cryptonomex. You can get more information about Cryptonomex's proposed path forward HERE.
The team from Bitspark are launching 'Zephyr'. Zephyr will be a reward token for taking part in the Bitspark remittance network; the token sale for Zephyr will start on the 6th October 18:00 HKT at zephyr.bitspark.io and last for 30 days or until all available Zephyr are sold (600 000 000 ZEP). @jeremypeng has announced that the Bitshares wallet which his team has been developing has been published to the Google playstore this week. This is the first release and Jeremy has also mentioned they have plans to continue developing the UI and adding new features. You can find the wallet HERE. As mentioned previously this should only be used for testing with small amounts of assets until the source code can be analysed and verified.
This week Coindesk has released their State of Blockchain Q2 2017 report which includes a survey question "What sector of blockchain applications are you most bullish on?"; The top 3 answers were Decentralized Exchange, Privacy and Asset management... Imagine a Decentralized Exchange and Token platform that allowed confidential transactions on a proven highly scalable blockchain with predictable 3 second blocks and transaction finality.... Bitshares :)
@kencode has posted a small update this week on the Bitsharestalk forums regarding the ongoing Stealth development. The enhanced Stealth implementation is currently running on a private testnet and is still in active development. He has mentioned his plans to open up this testnet for public testing and feedback in the coming weeks. You can see his statement HERE
A hardfork has been scheduled on TESTNET for Friday 2017-09-15 12:00:00 UTC. This has no impact on the Bitshares main-chain/network and as does not require Bitshares users to preform any action what so ever. More information and the changelog for this fork can be found HERE
BSIP-0018 commonly known as 'Revive BitAsset through buying Settlement Pool' is being forked into the Bitshares testnet to ensure it is fully functional in a distributed public network before being released live on the production Bitshares network. Testing and evaluation will be conducted for some time before it is eventually live in production.. It is great to see the progress of this shareholder approved project!
Ronny Boesing (CEO of OpenLedger) Has announced changes to the monthly BTSR buy back and burn operation. 'From this date, the buyback and burn on the four usual currencies of BTC, ETH, BTS and USD will be replaced with the buyback of OBITS from the bitUSD market, and then rewarded to all BTSR holders.' you can find full details as well as the hottest ICO's in his announcement HERE
Ronny Boesing (CEO of OpenLedger) has released a comment on telegram for all Open.Muse holders. 'Just now OpenLedger sent NEW MUSE to all MUSE holders, in a 1:100 swap. Every MUSE owner received OPEN.MUSEOL from open-museol-distribution account in a 1:100 swap (100 OPEN.MUSE = 1 OPEN.MUSEOL).' Open.Museol will be redeemable for 100 MUSE on the native MUSE chain; MUSE withdrawals are facilitated by the OpenLedger gateway service.

I really like bitshares more and more, but I would love to see a completely new UI/UX refresh.
I am loving the Bitshares DEX more and more. If there was a way for it to offer decentralized margin trading and lending like Poloniex and Bitfinex, everyone in the world would move to it, including China. I would immediately become a lifetime member. Is there a reason this can't be done?
