RE: Happy Pi Day [Pineapple Arcade Celebrates Anniversary with Bitcoin Lightning]

Defiitely interesting to see how the blackchain projects are identifying themselves more and more with gaming.

Does make me wonder, though, what would happen if someone suddenly came up with the next "Angry Birds" or something of a similar global popularity... is there even a blockchain out there capable of handling, say five million concurrent players? Or will that be something for the next generation beyond Steem, EOS and the like?

Just thinking out loud here...

Great questions here @reddragonfly - the creators of Pineapple Arcade are building a new game called Neon District which is actually leveraging a sidechain called Loom.

Loom Network is a new gaming oriented platform built on Ethereum. It actually is a DPoS sidechain and performs a lot more like EOS which allows it to be super scalable and acclimate to the size of an Angry Birds-like project. From our pulse on things, Loom is definitely an industry leader for games requiring on-chain non-fungible assets with smart contracts. If you're interested, here's more on how Loom is planning to be the leader for blockchain games -
