Presenting IOTA new way to do micropayments

When it comes to Blockchain I would consider myself a huge enthusiast. I think that's very important when dealing with any subject that is not learned within days or even just months. If it doesn't drive you then it will be very hard for you to stick with it but you are also creating your own filter bubble where you become so immersed to the subject that you can't look outside your own hole. What if there's something other then a blockCHAIN to create consensus in a distributed ledger?
Yesterday I came across a new thing called IOTA.
They say IOTA is made to work as the backbone of the Internet of things. The Innovation in a nutshell is the "tangle" which replaces the blockchain with a DAG (Directed Acyclic Graph). It gets rid of all transactions fees by forcing every participant that want to do a transaction to validate two transactions before.

This will enable us to make micropayments on a large scale.
Couldn't this be done with blockchain and something like the Raiden Network? Maybe. But maybe it's more efficient to do that with something like the IOTA. It should be seen as an extension for blockchains not a competitor. It's Use Cases are distributed Computing, Storage or Energy payments. All of them huge markets. Have a look at their whitepaper if you're interested and tell me what you think about it. I think it's really exciting to think about the possibilities in creating distributed ledgers with other structures then a chain.
