NVO Wallet Review - easy to use, secure, fast!

in #blockchain6 years ago (edited)

 Good evening!

This post showcases the NVO wallet a bit. The wallet is currently in beta with a major update coming up in less than 2 months.
I should also state that i'm not a part of the team nor am I getting paid for this review.  On top of that the currently used APIs might not work and bugs may occur. After the major update, all those bugs shall be history. The NVO team is planning to implement their own API Clusters, Multithreading and more. Please be aware of that.

The NVO Wallet is not a ERC20 only wallet, you will eventually be able to store any cryptocurrency in it.

Wallet support:

  • Windows (32-bit)
  • Windows (64-bit)
  • Mac
  • Linux

The NVO Wallet supports both the 32-bit and 64-bit version. If you guys are confused about that, here is the definition of the used terms:

The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a computer's processor (also called a CPU), handles information. The 64-bit version of Windows handles large amounts of random access memory (RAM) more effectively than a 32-bit system.

So what that means is, that a 64-bit version can run the 32-bit version, but not the other way around. At the end of the day it doesn't matter if you have a laptop running on a 32-bit version or a 64-bit version. That's pretty awesome to be true.

Installation
The installation was super smooth, super quick and super easy. There is basically nothing you can do wrong.

User experience and interface design
The first time use of the wallet was honestly a bit hard but i still found my way around. At the current stage the wallet might not be shown on your desktop. If that happens, don't be shocked or scared, we got this.
Click on the windows symbol in the left bottom corner, type in "C:\Users\Home\AppData" > Enter > Local > NVOWallet > Execute the .exe file

Easy peasy!

With that done, the tintro with the NVO logo appears. Love it. The registration was super easy as well, no troubles with that.

Let's get started with the real deal!
Below you can see the main interface of the NVO Wallet. It's kept simple and looks clean.
The wallet supports at its current stage 12 cryptocurrencies which are:

  • Bitcoin
  • Ethereum
  • Ethereum Classic
  • Litecoin
  • Dogecoin
  • Ripple
  • Dash
  • Waves
  • Counterparty
  • NVO
  • Omnilayer
  • MaidSafeCoin

The currency display can be changed to USD, Euro and Bitcoin.

On the left hand side we have the navigation sidebar with all the main components. You can somehow compare it with the Exodus Wallet, but to be honest, the idea of having my different wallet adresses (and mostly more than one adress of each cryptocurrency) at one place and my transactions at another very good. It's much more user friendly but that's just my opinion.

Due to insufficient funds in my wallet i won't show you the transaction and adress interface.
Let's head to the "Price" interface. Remember that we are in an early stage of the wallet and changes will be made in the coming months.
Personally i'm digging the interface design so hard. It's so easy on the eyes and very easy to understand.

Here we see the usual suspects: Market cap, Volume, Circulating supply, Max supply, Price, etc. The interactive graph on the bottom works well nevertheless the time frame options at this stage are limited to hourly, daily and monthly.
Hopefully there is more to come, like some statistics and more defined information.I'm going to stop you here - if you are interested in checking out the rest of the wallet and follow up on the project, click the links below.
