Tuurnt: The Perfect App for Partygoers and Event Planners II
It’s the blockchain era now with ICOs here and there, new coins developed each day to solve one day-to-day problem or another. Its either transportation today, finance tomorrow or healthcare the next. Everyone is just so serious with something and that doesn’t exclude me. Here was I rummaging around on the internet which I find to be my comfort zone till I began searching for ways to have fun on the internet. The things I found there were obviously no more than internet games, dating, etc. Then I thought, what if the internet was as funky as my loud flat mates next-door? I then started searching for various slangs for fun stuff; “vibe”, “chill”, “get down”, etc till I tried searching “turnt” but instead made a typo and then searched for “tuurnt”. I was about closing the tab when the page loaded and I saw very unique search results.
First was a website with actual “Tuurnt”! Oh well, I felt very much in luck and decided to go check it out and after going through the website, you definitely wouldn’t blame me for writing this article. I first watched the amazing animated video which definitely aroused my interest in the whole Tuurnt thing. I know you must be wondering already;
What is Tuurnt and What is it all about?
Tuurnt is a platform which as mentioned in the video on their website, intends to fill the void in the event industry. They intend to create an ecosystem where everyone can literally get paid for attending and hosting parties and events. Cool innit? For an introvert like me who only goes out when it’s really a necessity, Tuurnt is really giving me an incentive to go out or have friends, family, strangers and neighbors over at my place. Now, my flat mates who ask me to hang out also would have a very good excuse for me to oblige and trust me, if Tuurnt had been around for like a year now, my flat mates would have been millionaires by now.
Enough with all the petty talk, Tuurnt is a platform which is majorly based on the mobile app. This makes the whole
platform closer to users as we all interact with our mobile devices more often than we do with websites. The application runs on using a utility token called the Tuurnt Token (TNT). It is an ERC 20 token which can be used for payment and exchange on the app. This is to enable a secure payment without having to deal with middlemen while utilizing the benefit of the Blockchain technology.
Basically, the whole system works this way:
• A person hosting a party, get-together or a meet-up posts on the app and can decide whether attendance is free or paid. The host will have to add directions, photos, videos, descriptions and other valuable information about the event to this posting.
• Another user who wishes to attend this event must have at least one (1) TNT token in his/her wallet to be eligible to book or host an event. This information is recorded in real-time.
• Upon arrival, the host can scan the barcode of the guests to see who have and have not arrived.
• Users can upload pictures and videos of the event and others can also see what is going on at the event at every moment and also interact.
• After the party or event, the party is reviewed, the tally of events hosted and attended is recorded for the host and partygoer and then 24 hours later, if necessary, payment is sent to the host if there’s no dispute.
In the case of a dispute, a Tuurnt Jury is formed by picking random users on the blockchain presenting them with facts of the dispute in order for them to look into the matter and vote unbiased and anonymously so their votes cannot be swayed. They also get paid for doing that. Awesome! Everything is just so “Tuurnt” with the Tuurnt App!
There’s more, and that is the Tuurnt Reward System. All the way from the Bronze Membership to the Diamond Membership and for each milestone achieved, some TNT tokens are awarded to the hosts and the same also goes for the partygoers. To keep any of these memberships at all, the hosts must have at least three 5-star ratings if not, they shall be sanctioned and penalized.
FOR THE HOSTS
• Bronze Membership: 0 -24 reviews with at least 1 event.
• Silver Membership: 25 reviews and gets 125 TNT rewards.
• Gold Membership: 125 reviews and gets 625 TNT rewards.
• Platinum Membership: 250 reviews and gets 1250 TNT rewards.
• Diamond Membership: 500 reviews and gets 2500 TNT rewards.
FOR THE PARTYGOERS
• Bronze Membership: 0 -14 events with 3 TNT rewards for each event attended.
• Silver Membership: 15 -29 events with 5 TNT rewards for each event attended.
• Gold Membership: 30 -59 events with 7 TNT rewards for each event attended.
• Platinum Membership: 60 -119 events with 9 TNT rewards for each event attended.
• Diamond Membership: 120+ events with 11 TNT rewards for each event attended.
