Steemit is my introduction to the world of writing and Blockchain and the experience garnered have been more than wonderful. I discovered another exciting platform as introduced to me by @samest of @airhawk-exchange and it is Whaleshares. Thanks to him and @officialfuzzy for the lectures back then on the server. Whaleshares is a decentralised blogging platform on the blockchain network.

I joined whaleshares.io as an early adopter and it became a lesson to me why it is important to adopt Blockchain platform early. The platform accepted us and gave us whalestakes as reward for hodling Whaleshares in our bitshares account. Another wonder, another topic. Within the twinkle of an eye, I have gathered enough whalestakes with my effort and whaletokens I won as rewards. Don't be lost, let me explain some terms to you.

Whalestakes is just like Steemit Power (sp), it shows the strength of the reward of a user. Whaletokens are used to summon share (upvotes) on a post depending on the share mechanism and mana. Mana ranges from 1 - 100% and it checks the percentage of share to be given out. A slider is given to users with 500 whalestakes and above.

The great thing about the platform is the freedom to post, it is more social-media-like. You can snap good pictures and post, you don't have to worry about the word count. Just make it original, source the pictures and plagiarism is a big offence here. Whaleshares boast of witnesses and the TOP 20 witnesses are very active. They also contribute obviously and immensely to the growth of the platform.

It is so easy to make friends here. We have several sub-communities on discord and you can join in shows to meet new people. Also, curation shows can be helpful to individuals with great posts but undervalued. Whaleshares is not in competition with any other platform, it is growing stronger and better with improved functionalities.
