Quarkchain is a high-capacity blockchain that consists of two layers. The sharding layer allows high throughput distributing data and the root layer ist confirming the blocks of the sharding layer. Quarkchain wants optimize the tradeoff between decentralization, scalability and security. There will be nodes and clusters. Clusters are multiple nodes combined to a supernode.
The compatibility to the Ethereum Virtual Machine will give devs the ability to run their apps directly on the QuarkChain platform.

1. Roadmap

Q2 2018: Testnet 0.2 with 2000+ tps
Q4 2018: Mainnet 1.0 with 100.000 tps
Q2 2019: Mainnet 2.0 with 1.000.000 tps

1. Team

The team consists of highly educated and experienced software engineers with a backround at Facebook or Google.

1. Competitors

There are some competitors in the high throughput blockchain space. Seele.pro had their ICO some weeks ago. They are quite under the radar compared to QuarkChain. Radixdlt.com is a consensus algorithm already reaching 6000 tps on their testnet.

1. ICO

The ICO is anticipated to sell out quickly. There are 80k+ people in the Telegram group. The KYC will start on Sunday (may 13) and there will be a quiz to enter a lottery for the ICO participation. The demand will not be met in the ICO so it is expected to be more expensive once it hits the exchanges.

1. Conclusion

QuarkChain is the kind of blockchain project, developers and users are waiting for. Its fast, secure and decentralized. But Quarkchain is not the only project that claims to solve these problems. The project is quite hyped in my opinion, which is good when you can manage to join the ICO. Other projects in this space could be serios competitors for quarkchain and in the end only the adoption will decide which project will be better.
