ARWEAVE: ENGINEERED TO IMPROVE DATA STORAGE

INTRODUCTION

As part of the innovation that shifted focus from the traditional market to the digital market, the Blockchain has grown tremendously; but it has been limited by the shortcomings of its centralized data storage.

WHAT IS ARWEAVE?

Having realized the major challenge facing the Blockchain, Arweave has envisioned a protocol that will be dependent on the decentralized Blockchain technology to offer a cutting-edge solution to the need for efficient data storage.
Quite a lot of demand is made on data storage-the need for safety, easy accessibility, protection by laws, and possibly, monetization of the data. These demands are in response to the loss of data due to cyber-attacks leaving several data deleted, compromised, or stolen.
To combat the shortcoming of the centralized data storage, Arweave established a decentralized architecture and cryptography.

THE FRAMEWORK FOR ACHIEVING ARWEAVE’S GOAL

Arweave has provided the technology necessary to improve data storage. The technology is expected to deliver the enhancement of data storage as envisioned by the Arweave’s objective.

BLOCKWEAVE

The Blockweave is to enable safe decentralization without the entire chain being used. The primary purpose of this is to facilitate low-cost and speedy validation with improved levels of scalability. With the use of its block hash and active wallet list, the verification of transaction is executed without engaging the last transaction block. The volume of hashing necessary for consensus reduces as more data is added to the network creating an affordable and scalable platform that guarantees lower costs with increasing data.

PROOF OF ACCESS

This enables the decentralization of data storage due to the access given to the miners to maximize the mining process. The miner does not have to store all blocks. With the reduction in the amount of electricity used, there is more saving in the electricity left. Consequently, the saved hashing power is added to the system.

WILDFIRE

The notion behind the name relates to the real wildfire that spreads uncontrollably. Wildfire sets up a competitive environment that sees users as the champions. The ultimate reason is to deliver the requested data for the user that called for it. Wildfire developed a ranking system that ranks miners avoiding to the swiftness of their response to data requests. Besides, it considers peer-to-peer data sharing. Consequently, miners who are passive on the platform may be forced out of the platform.

BLOCKSHADOWS

The data storage of the Blockchain hosts such a large volume of data. Blockshadow facilitates the transfer of blocks using minimal storage space. Blockshadows are crucial to providing the relay speeds of information. Going by the technologies put in place, Arweave aims to have a platform conducting at least 5000TPS

ARWEAVE TOKENS

The Arweave platform will run on incentives. Arweave tokens will be gifted to miners based on the activities they completed. With compensation being awarded, miners tend to replicate and send data immediately it is requested.

CONCLUSION

With the technologies put in place and the incentive program, the decentralized data storage would in no little way be a significant improvement on the Blockchain technology and promote data safety as against the centralized data storage of the Blockchain.
