Blockchain Community Engagement Versus BTC Price - How Can We Steer An Industry?

In preparation for a talk on a Student Perspective on The Blockchain Industry within Vancouver, I spent some time following event trends over the past two years.

I collected this data from Meetup - which limits the breadth of events that took place in Vancouver, but it still highlights the correlation between BTC price and event attendance.

It is interesting as it shows the influence of the current currency value on community engagement. Yet, we should push that aside to focus on learning about the technology behind the blockchain.

As community engagement in the industry is largely influenced by the BTC price and trading returns, it is fundamental that we direct our attention toward increased avenues of education. Education of both viable and practical use cases are important to keep the industry growing, rather than being reliant on "blockchain buzzwords" and positive market returns.

Thus, tight community networks and strong coordination and support between those throwing events in the industry is vital to creating a needed framework of educational services.
