Consensus 2018: Where The Future Of Crypto Is Decided By MarketMakers!

I was opportuned to attend watch the consensus 2018 especially the part that involved our CEO giving a speech about NET NEUTRALITY.

I already know the things that will confuse many of you. Three words;

• Consensus
• Net Neutrality.

Consensus

I kinda like the name coz it reminds me of Census. Its a yearly crypto event where enthusiasts show up to be counted. Its also an opportunity for people pursuing diverse crypto investments to get some level of Agreements on whats what.

This show is usually hosted by COINDESK one of the leading websites catering to bitcoin news and crypto-related events. At a per ticket price of $2000, more than $17 million has been raised from ticket sales alone. That will show you the sheer number of people attending this stuff.

You can be damn sure that if I was anywhere near New York, that I wouldn't miss this for anything. Thankfully we are the internet era where you can be everywhere at the same time. SO I was able to catch up.

Did you not expect the guys that have already got their lambo to show up? What? Yes they did show up...with braggadocio and panache! Lolx.

Net Neutrality!

~First of all, Its cool that they invited Ned to talk about Net Neutrality. Talk about having the right alphabet beginning your name. Lolx.

NN is defined by Wikipedia as ;

the principle that Internet service providers treat all data on the Internet the same, and not discriminate or charge differently by user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or method of communication.

So in essence its a fairly modern concept that has gained some prominence recently. Demands are simple;
All data/information are the same. Segregating them in terms of prices is a discrimination against choice. Its also the worst form of censorship against freewill in a world that's full of multiple choices.

So...

Consensus is just in its 4th year since inception. We are all glad to see how large the cryptospace has become. So many young startup companies being built on the blockchain, so many big names, so many investors, so many prodigies and geniuses here...

Okay! One person that obviously dodged the event was Vitalik Buterin. Well, he's against the high fees that were charged as ticket. Not like he couldn't afford it. He calls it Rent Seeking Promotion and even further criticizes CoinDesk's approach.

But who cares right? As long as cryptos go to the moon after this consensus. There seems to be a consensus that that will happen. So fingers crossed and hearts waiting patiently for a new age miracle...to the moon!
