Blockchain solutions

Hi readers,
I'm writing this piece as a more humane, just-put-it-out-there kind of thing. In the hopes people get inspired by the ideas coming forth. You can't create something big without having the ideas first.

Social safetynet

Usually each country has some form of social safetynet, These things range from a provision of a homeless shelter, free meals for homeless people, free amount of drinking water, Replacement income when one becomes unexpectedly unemployed, basic income for everybody, etc..

The blockchain implementation

Imagine every citizen of a country registered on the blockchain, having their own wallet, and own Id card/passport/identification method to acces and perform actions with it.
If the government wants to supply basic income to each citizen they can basicly auto add to each wallet each day.
Does the country want to provide basic food needs to the homeless? assign homeless status to a citizen which grants the wallet holder a daily bread token and a daily free bottle of water token. Tokens can then be used at any shop that supports the payment method and the shop can then be reïmbursed by the country for services rendered.
Imagine people being able get out of bad situations because they don't have to worry about daily needs or don't need to spend their time begging or scavanging for food.
Imagine countries providing mass shelter by giving homeless people a daily shelter token, useable at a countries built like japanese tube hotel model.

Instead of giving people just universal cash, give them need specific tokens they can use to fullfil basic human needs. This should be done to prevent abuse of funds. People who have an addiction might still get that daily meal and trade it for their addiction, but that will be their own choice.

Going further then basic needs

One could even add spendable tokens for getting education, or psychological support (if needed), the ideas are limitless. This setup doesn't need to restrict itself to just helping the homeless. Each service the government provides can be tokenised and provided to the people.

Freedom to improve your situation and get back on your feet

When people are able to spend their daily time to improve their own situation instead of worrying about daily needs, I expect people to take their fate into their hands and mold a brighter future, not needing to resort to criminal activity.

I believe the solution of this lies in the politics side. As each person now votes within a democracy, so will they have voting power on the blockchain. More on this in the next Blockchain Nation update
