Introduction

In this article, I will introduce a new and unique growth on the blockchain Technology, an extension of blockchain into the medical field, a platform that is about changing a very big aspect of the medical record Industry in the medical field. Just before I introduce this innovation, it's features and impacts, let us get to know more about the current state of electronic and traditional health records and it's shortcomings, we won't get the solution if we don't even have an idea of what the problem is.

Present state of medical record operations and it's problems.

Every individual that has ever visited any hospital as a patient is entitled to medical records, this records Include test and examinations for diagnosis, accumulated records of diagnostic results, individual genetic makeup etc. and all this records are necessary and essential for certain medical analysis and decisions, when such patients visit medical institutions. But also, it is very important that the medical records of an individual should be digitalized firstly, and this should be done on a platform with a greater degree of decentralization, transparency, security and flexibility of transfer, which are all the problems of the present day medical record systems and platforms.
Having discussed the following problems, the quest for a solution has lead to the birth of Medibloc to resolve this issues.

What is Medibloc?

Medibloc is an open-source health related data platform based on blockchain technology. It is a compiled history of a patients medical records with optimal security and flexibility, which ensures time to time updates, validation and data exchange at great ease. Initially, what started as a project by Dr Allen and Dr Einsol to give solutions to present challenges of health care data system now includes incentivization for data shared to researchers, hence your medical records are now assets.

Like I mentioned before, it is important to digitalize patient records, Non-electronic records are difficult to store and work with and are also prone to disasters like fire incidents etc. Medibloc offers the medical record Industry data digitization at ease I.e without much difficulty, with digital medical data storage, Loss of data due to fire, theft etc is eliminated.

• Decentralization

Most of the other challenges of the present data storage platforms is due to the centralized nature of this platforms. Although over the years many other medical record platforms like Apples health app, have tried solving this issues, there is no guarantee of confidentiality and security due to their centralized nature. Medibloc intends to make use of decentralized blockchain tech. for data integration from both medical institutions and patients, hence decentralization ensures that most of the decisions taken on this platform concerning the activities on a medical history are taken by the individuals theirselves and noy the medical institutions as in the case of the centralized systems. These ensure that Information are safe and secured.

• Medibloc intends using blockchain which confirms its vision of decentralization, and then stores dat from hospitals as well as patient generated data.

• As discussed earlier, Medibloc gives it users a guarantee of maximum security. Data is accessed by parties validated by the user himself, all decisions of who and where to share information to are taken by the user alone, and close family in cases if emergency, this ensures a safe collection and usage of arranged digital medical data.

• A greater degree of transparency is achieved with Medibloc with every activity transparently displayed on the blockchain.

• Due to its open-source nature it is highly interoperable as other platform applications can be connected using health records on the platform Storage.
