in #blockchain6 years ago

Today is exactly one week since the launch of Cheetah Africa with a one day Fintech/Blockchain conference held in Lagos, Nigeria.

It was an exciting moment to see all the enthusiasm by Africans in the blockchain technology space. If we add equal efforts as our enthusiasm for the technology then I can see a bright light ahead of us.

The Cheetah Africa event exposed how deep Africans are already involved in blockchain technology, not just as consumers but also as value creators in this leading technology for the future. Projects like;
Paradigm Initiatives by Gbenga Sesan,

Kubitx Exchange by Eric Anna,

Nitroneum by Golomo Stanley,

Webercoin by Sheni Tukura

Crypstone by Onwurah Williams,

Kurecoin by Abikure Tega.

I could go on and on and on to mention lots of projects initiated by Africans and the list is already getting longer.

Note that this is not an advert or endorsement of these projects by WAfrica, but this information is aimed at showing African's involvement in the blockchain technology space. You are advised to always Do Your Own Research

Enthusiasm is not always enough. As the good old saying, faith without work is dead, we must support our enthusiasm for the blockchain technology with adequate skills necessary to create values in the society. There are a lot of problems to be solved in Africa, - it is he who wears the shoe that knows exactly where it hurts. We Africans should not hope and pray for people to use this technology to create the solutions to our problems. We are the one who knows what the problems are, therefore this is the time to get involved not just as a consumer but also as a Creator.

How do I get involve?

Life is much easier now for anyone who needs to acquire some new skills. You can take a whole course at MIT, Udemy, Cousera without ever leaving your house. I've taken several courses on Udemy and Cousera myself. Also, there are a lot of videos on video sharing platforms like YouTube, Dtube and Dlive, that you can use to find your way around the bulk world of blockchain technology.

Once you have found your way around the blockchain technology and you now understand a few concepts about the whole working of the technology, next is to acquire the right skills necessary for value creation. Most people never invest in getting the right skills and tools in whatever they are enthusiastic about, so the enthusiasm dies within a few days. Do the right thing now and gain the right skills before you become a watch man while others move towards the zenith.

Then create value, I keep saying bring your dreams/passion to the blockchain. There's always enough place at the top but remember on one rewards mediocrity.

The movement is on, and the revolution is already gathering momentum. Don't be left behind. The best time to have joined the blockchain movement was ten years ago, the next best time is now. Don't miss it.

Congratulations to the organizers of the event, Cheetah African, Nathaniel Luz and Lucky Uwakwe for a successful launching of your organization. Cheetah Africa vision is to be the pool of African startups and innovations, providing them with the necessary support structures and competitiveness. I hope to to have them on Steemit soon.
