I identify with just about every single thing you confess. This: You have to learn to forgive yourself for what you don't get to. You won't get to everything. Things come up, energy runs out. And if you keep treating what you did not get to as an open loop that makes it harder for you to do anything the next day, then you're just paying spoons as interest, rather than using them to eat into your next day's stack of activities.
And it is hard. Because the guilt...

That is probably the one lesson that I do wish people pick up from that piece. Self-forgiveness is too important, and nobody teaches it. In fact, people are often taught to not self-forgive.

Then again, there are the people who forgive themselves for everything without even thinking of it, which is another issue, but not what's addressed here.
