If like there is a bunch of people sitting in a room brainstorming and then shouting out suggestions of new things that they can get everyone upset about.

Actually, this is close to what actually is going on. What appears as signs that people are going off their rockers, and getting increasingly ridiculous with each passing day, is a bunch of people that have the collective intent to sow division among the population at large. It gets less ridiculous and more logical when we realize that the media is at the heart of this"initiative". Without their pushing it, where would it be? It would be laughed at and derided for what it is - propaganda.
