Two Girls and The Big Bad Wolf (Big Bad Wolf Sale 2017)

If you're a book lover and a bargain hunter, you'd probably heard of the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale that happens annually in Malaysia. Well, here's a little blog-ish type posting of me and @nanawawa's little trip there yesterday for Big Bad Wolf Day 1.

After turning a new leaf, , the Big Bad Wolf now uses his good sense of smell, instead of hunting for little girls in red hoods and their grandmas, to find cheap deals on books and filling little red bags full of it.

A little while back in November, Nawa came up to me and asked whether I could drive us to the Big Bad Wolf Sale on Day 1. She had been anticipating the return of the sale for about a few months and her hands were itching for new books. She also got a great tip off from back when she interned that you can art books for real cheap at BBW if you go on the first day. Considering how pricey art books are, I thought that it might be a good idea to go ahead and try my luck.

Soon enough, the day came, Nawa had a recording to do so we planned to go right after. It was only a short drive from the university to the sale's location. I filled up my car with fuel and checked my tires. The front looked kind of flat so I went to to fill it and...

The tire nozzle came off.

Some panicking and a quick trip to the mechanic later, we went ahead and just got a Grab instead. A couple of attempts to solve the hardest question in the world - "Nak makan ape?", which translates to "What do you wanna eat?" - later, we got a bite to eat and finally head into the convention centre where the sale happens.

Much like the Big Bad Wolf sign, it was large and grand. The halls were filled with so many books and choices. It was like being a kid unleashed into a huge toy store. There were books that we never saw before in any local bookstore before. Some intriguing and some bizarre, and some hidden gems we thought Steemians would get a laugh out of like...

At the end of the day, it was just a good old time looking for books. Our legs may have felt like jello and our shoulders strained from lugging around the books through the hall, the satisfaction of getting a whole luggage bag full of books on a bargain was worth it for us.

And we ended the day with some questionably expressed selfies outside of the Big Bad Wolf sign. Why did we make these faces? Tiredness, crack-ness, pure randomness, the realization we still spent a hefty penny perhaps? Well, I don't even know anymore. It just makes me laugh.
