Spring Project: Building a Fence
As we have young children playing in the backyard, it becomes important to have a fence parameter so no little ones decide to go wandering around the neighborhood.
So it's FENCE TIME!
The first step is digging the fence post holes.
Girls: can we dig too?"
Mom: Sure, I need to have strong girls, like pioneer girls.
Girls: But we're not strong yet
Mom: Well if you keep digging, every time you dig you get a little stronger
Girls: Every shovel I dig, I get stronger. I'll dig lots of shovels!
Ok, maybe the girls didn't dig this deep hole, but if they kept at it for a while, who knows what they could accomplish.

Awe, what cute little helpers you have there!! Love your pictures! My husband built a fence a couple of years ago for the same reason, and it's a lot of work! The kids would still rather ride their bikes on the sidewalk and play elsewhere lol. Sometimes we wonder why we even have it. :)

How big are the posts you are putting in? That is a big hole!
4"x 4" posts The opening of the hole is 12" diameter, it's much skinnier at the bottom. @ironshield
I can relate.
thirty years ago I perimeter fenced ten acres.
Using powerline poles cut to eight feet for fence posts.
I dug each post hole by hand.
it's still there.
10 acres? Powerline poles? Makes this job look like nothing! @ironshield
I was a big boy then.
some of those poles were over two foot thick.
They are so cute!
I helped my dad build a privacy fence years ago.... But we borrowed a friends tractor with a post hole digger... Much faster! Haha!
