We must always keep in mind that it is not the love of one person that can erase the sin of another, but that the only love that can cover sin is the love of our Savior Jesus Christ. Let us remember that it was this love that led him to the cross, the place where his blood more precious than gold was shed for the forgiveness of sins (Matthew 26:28; John 3:16; Acts 3: 18-19; Revelation 7: 14)

Many times we have a bad attitude when we find ourselves in difficult Christian relationships, we question the attitude of others and we even begin to divulge them. This can cause us to fill with resentments, the roots of bitterness can grow in our life. Once again we can say that for these reasons we need to have that love towards our brothers that covers a multitude of sins.

HOW IS IT THAT LOVE COVERS A MANY OF SINS?

When the Bible says that love covers a multitude of sins, it refers to the following:

1.- Love leads the person who was wronged to forgive the one who acted as an offender and has repented of his actions and sin (Mat_18: 15; Luke_17: 3-4).

2.- The love that covers a multitude of sins leads us to seek the restoration of our brother who has sinned (James 5:20; Gal 6: 1). When the sinner feels and looks at that attitude of love towards him, he repents to the point that he comes to ask God for forgiveness (Acts 8: 22-24; 1Jn_1: 9), and this is where our God forgives their sins, for this reason When we act with love, this love covers a multitude of sins.

Love, says Peter, contributes a lot to the process of having sins forgiven and thus covered. Any other "covering" of sins is a hoax. Remember that God's forgiveness is conditional.

So it is not that we will indulge in sin but that with our love we will try to lead the sinner to restoration by trying to bring him back to God. Remember that 1 Corinthians 13: 6 says that love "does not rejoice in injustice, but rejoices in the truth."
