This small and very cozy cafe is notable for the fact that it is located in the pavilion, built in the eighteenth century by the famous architect Charles Cameron. Some visitors and tourists even difficult to imagine that such a beautiful building served as an ordinary aviary for birds and moreover, it was built for this purpose. This cafe is called"Aviary".
This Scottish architect is known for having a weakness for everything beautiful. Even the most simple and ordinary in its purpose buildings, he tried to perform in accordance with the tribute to the fashion of the era. His works have always looked luxurious and pompous. In those days there were sculptures and ancient statues, various exotic flowers and plants, singing birds.
We went inside this cafe. While my husband was making the order, I had the opportunity to consider the interior.
To our regret, much of the former appearance of this hall has been lost. Not preserved frescoes on the cornices and on the ceiling. This dome was of colored glass, but we also won't be able to see them.
In the center there was an ancient statue of the goddess of flowers of Flora. It was possible to keep only some details and ornaments.
Despite the fact that the Aviary no longer serves its original purpose and there is not a single bird left, it still attracts the attention of many people. This cafe has a creative focus. Sometimes there are exhibitions and literary evenings. From the main hall, through the large panoramic Windows, you can see the open part of the terrace. This pleasant area offers a Cup of coffee or lunch. Well, and we-continue our walk. See you soon...

Thank you for Your attention and Your visit. I appreciate Your feedback and comments.
Beautiful place. Very open and light feeling even if the aviary is gone.
Thank you for Your visit, @steven-patrick

it's a shame more of the original features weren't preserved but maybe there weren't too many it used to be an aviary. 😊
It works only in summer. I think I will have time to visit this nice place again. Thanks @gillianpearce

Some historical sites are now allowed to be used for public places, but they need to be clearly observed conditions for the preservation of these historical architectural buildings. Thanks for visiting, @tattoodjay
